HOW IT WORKS
Double-tap Command while working in any app; nothing on screen dims or moves.
Select text, or switch to Screen mode and drag over the area you want to capture.
Save the annotation to the current session, then copy the session, paste it into another app, or stash it.
WHAT IT SAVES
Simple Annotator writes each session to a Markdown file and stores its screenshots as PNGs in the same folder. You can open these files directly or pass them to local scripts and models.

We are finishing screenshot permissions, cross-app paste, signing, and notarization before opening the download. The release target is macOS 14 and later.
